Englewood, FL : Charlotte Co. deputy injured in DUI-related crash on South McCall Road and Edison Drive on Friday night, Nov 27, 2015

Alcohol may have been a factor in a Thanksgiving night crash that involved four cars, including a Charlotte County deputy.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash that happened on South McCall Road and Edison Drive.

Deputy Eric Knapp had a driver pulled over when a pickup truck crashed into his patrol car.

The truck was driven by John McMorrow, 49, and FHP said alcohol was in his system.

The crash caused another car to flip onto its side.

The deputy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Others involved suffered only minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
