Canon, CO : Colorado State Patrol investigating fatal crash on Colo. 115 on Thursday, October, 12th 2017
The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash on Colo. 115 near mile post 32 in El Paso County. The crash occurred at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday, 10 miles south of Colorado Springs.
A Nissan Altima was traveling southbound on Colo. 115 when the driver lost control and swerved into the northbound lane. A 1999 Kenworth was traveling northbound in the left lane when the Nissan collided with the Kenworth head-on.
Both vehicles traveled off the west side of the roadway.
A 28-year-old male from Texas was driving the Nissan. The male driver was not wearing his seatbelt and was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver's name will be released once next of kin has been notified.
Benjamin Flanagan, 44, of Colorado Springs was identified as the driver of the Kenworth. He was not injured in the crash and was wearing his seatbelt. Speed and alcohol/drugs are not factors in the crash.
