Police say a New York State trooper has been injured after being struck by a car on a highway in western New York.
New York State Police say it happened around 10:15 p.m. Saturday on Grand Island in Erie County.
Authorities say the trooper, whose name was not immediately released, was struck by a car in the southbound lanes of Interstate 190.
Police say the trooper was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Officials are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
