Phoenix, AZ : Westbound Loop 202 at 32nd Street reopened after fatal wreck on Friday, 3rd September 2016
Authorities said one person was killed in a two-vehicle crash that closed a portion of a Phoenix freeway during the Friday morning commute.
The crash closed westbound Loop 202 at 32nd Street for several hours before reopening about 7:15 a.m.
The crash occurred at 1 a.m. when a vehicle sped through a construction zone, hitting a small SUV.
John Harris, 56, of Phoenix killed in the crash, according to Quentin Mehr, Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman. Harris was unrestrained and ejected from the vehicle's passenger seat when the SUV rolled, Mehr said.
The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries, and the driver of the other vehicle was uninjured in the collision, Mehr said.
