Fremont County, CO : U.S. 50 crash victim is 84-year-old man on Wednesday 5 october 2016

The driver who went off into a ravine Wednesday afternoon sustained life-threatening injuries, according to a news release from the Colorado State Patrol.

The name of the driver has not yet been released, as the crash is still under investigation. However, CSP did release that the driver is an 84-year-old man.

Alcohol and drugs are not being considered a factor in the crash.

According to the release, CSP troopers found a 2000 Chrysler van down an embankment off the north side of the westbound lane of U.S. 50, near milepost 287 in Fremont County,

"The driver had traveled off the right side of the road for an unknown reason and collided into an embankment where it came to final rest facing west," the news release said.
