Nob Hill, CA : Car crashes through S.F. restaurant window on Wednesday, January 7, 2015
San Francisco, California
A white Mini Cooper careened through a window of the Olea restaurant in Nob Hill on Wednesday afternoon, San Francisco Fire Department officials said.
Chiew Wong, a chef at the restaurant, said the small car was traveling up California Street about 3:30 p.m. when the driver of a pickup truck tried to make an illegal left turn onto Larkin Street, hit the Mini Cooper and pushed it into the restaurant’s window.
Fire officials said rides to the hospital were requested, but Wong said the restaurant was empty except for the owner, and that no one in Olea was injured.
The conditions of the victims were not available.
Wong said Olea will remain closed until crews can repair the damage.
“The outside doesn’t look that bad, but the inside, there is glass and the column of the wall is just hanging,” she said.
The crash briefly halted cable car service, but service was restored by 4:15 p.m.
