CAMILLUS, NY : An Onondaga County man died in a motorcycle crash on Saturday, June 17, 2017
An Onondaga County man died in a motorcycle crash Saturday morning while riding with other motorcyclists, the New York State Police said.
The crash occurred around 11:45 a.m. on state Route 174, north of Forward Road, in the town of Camillus.
State police said Mark D. Edmonds, 67, of Hayden Road, Marietta, was riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on Route 174 with several other motorcyclists when he veered off the east shoulder.
Edmonds hit a guard rail and was ejected, state police said. Several people stopped to help and began performing CPR on Edmonds, state police said. But he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office is conducting an autopsy to determine a cause of death. Troopers are continuing to investigate.
