Ellsworth, WI : One dead in Pierce County crash on Sunday, March 19, 2017

One per­son is dead and an­other was taken to a hos­pi­tal with un­de­ter­mined in­juries af­ter a head-on col­li­sion in Pierce County Sun­day.
Ja­cob T. Stanger, 21, Cot­tage Grove, Minn., died at the scene of the ac­ci­dent, which was re­ported at 10:16 p.m. Charles E. Hill, 38, Ellsworth, was taken to Re­gions Hospi­tal in St. Paul with un­der­tined in­juries.

Ac­cord­ing to the Pierce County sher­iff’s of­fice, Hill was driv­ing a 2012 Ford F350 west­bound on U.S. 10 near High­way O when his truck col­lided head-on with an east­bound 2008 In­finiti G37 driven by Stanger. Both were alone in their ve­hi­cles.
The Wisconsin State Patrol completed a reconstruction of the accident. The highway was closed to traffic for about three hours.
The crash remains under investigation.
