Two persons were injured in crash on I-84


A morning accident partially blocked Interstate 84 near the Northside exit for an hour and a half Wednesday. The accident occurred around 7:38 a.m. when traffic started to slow, Idaho State Police said in a released statement.

Samantha Pinto stopped for traffic, with Jimmy Joe Flores stopping behind her. A third vehicle, driven by Jordan Knarr, rear-ended Flores after Knarr looked down momentarily at his radio, police said.

After being hit, Flores rear-ended Pinto. His his vehicle then continued to travel into the median between eastbound and westbound lanes.

Flores and his passenger, Corey Hinrichs, sustained head/jaw injuries from the crash and were taken to Saint Alphonsus Health Plaza. Flores was not wearing a seatbelt.
Knarr and Pinto said they were uninjured.
