Two people were killed in a two vehicle crash in Marion County Friday night after troopers say one of the drivers drove through a stop sign and flashing red light.
The Florida Highway Patrol says Linda Bruce, 54, of Ocala was driving her car on County Road 225 and drove through a stop sign and flashing red light at the intersection of County Road 326.
Troopers said a pick-up truck driven by 24-year-old Benjamin Sanchez-Perez hit her vehicle.
Bruce’s car then then ran into a ditch, overturned, and then crashed into some trees and a fence.
Bruce, and her passenger who has not been identified, were both pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Fire Rescue.
Sanchez-Perez suffered minor injuries. He was ticketed for driving without a license.
The investigation is continuing.
