Beckley,WV : One dead, two injured in W.Va. 2-vehicle accident on September, Monday 11th 2017

Raleigh County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating Monday evening accident that left one person dead and two transported to hospitals.

The two-vehicle accident occurred on W.Va. 3 near Lake Stephens, Raleigh County emergency dispatchers reported.

Raleigh County Sheriff Scott Van Meter said one of the victims was transported to Raleigh General Hospital, and the other was airlifted to Charleston Area Medical Center.

He said a third person died due to injuries sustained during the accident.

Dispatchers said the call came in around 5:30 p.m., and Trap Hill Fire Department, Jan-Care Emergency Medical Services, the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office and Health Aeromedical responded to the scene.

As of 7:45 p.m. Monday, W.Va. 3 near Lake Stephens was remained shut down while investigators were working the scene.

The incident is still under investigation.
