Two people were killed in a head-on crash near Orono

Two people were killed in a head-on crash near Orono on Friday morning.

Orono officers were called at 7:01 a.m. on a report of a collision on Highway 12 just west of County Road 6. When they arrived, they found two vehicles with severe damage.

Police say a man driving one of the vehicles was dead on the scene and the man who was driving the other vehicle had critical injuries and later died on the scene.

The crash is under investigation, and no other information has been released.
