Boulevard,CA : Driver who died in East Anchorage crash on Sunday, 10th May, 2020

A 42-year-old man who died in an East Anchorage crash early Sunday was being pursued by the driver of a vehicle he’d just hit, police said.

Derrick Seals, 42, was driving a green 1993 Ford Bronco when it rear-ended a silver 2009 Dodge Journey SUV at DeBarr and Muldoon roads just before 3:25 a.m., police said in an online statement. Seals fled the scene and the other driver followed.

When it reached Northern Lights Boulevard, Seals’ Bronco struck a light pole. The vehicle rolled and landed in a wooded area, police said. Seals was ejected and died at the scene.

Police spoke with the driver of the Journey and other drivers who had stopped.

Toxicology results had not been processed by Monday morning and it was unclear if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crashes, police said.

No arrests were made and police said there have not been any citations issued.
