Columbus,OH : 6-month-old hurt in Thursday crash succumbs to injuries on December, Thursday 28th 2017
A 6-month-old girl that was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash Thursday evening has died, police said.
Three adults and three children were in the vehicle that crashed into a tree just before 5 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of Dutch Colony Drive.
The 6-month-old died Saturday while being treated for her injuries at University of Cincinnati Medical Center, police said.
None of the occupants of the 2011 Nissan Altima were wearing seatbelts, police said.
Faith Bridgett, 24, and the driver Demarkous Martin, 22, suffered serious injuries in the crash.
Hope Bridgett, 21, and two children — a 7-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl — suffered minor injuries.
Police did not name the children.
Martin was driving south on Winton Ridge Lane turning east onto Dutch Colony Road, when he failed to control the vehicle, leaving the right side of the road and striking a tree, police said.
Excessive speed does not appear to be a factor in this crash. Impairment is unknown at this time.
Any witnesses to the crash are asked to call the Cincinnati Police Department’s Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
