DONALDSONVLLE, LA : LSP: Teen killed in 2-vehicle crash in Ascension Parish on Wednesday, 25th September 2024

A 19-year-old is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Donaldsonville on Wednesday morning, Sept. 25.

Troopers identified the victim as Laterrius Williams,19, of Belle Rose.

The crash happened on LA 70 shortly after 8 a.m. According to law enforcement, the crash involved a BMW, which was driven by Williams, was traveling northbound on LA 70 behind a 2023 Ford pickup truck hauling a 25-foot flatbed trailer. Investigation revealed that when the Ford approached the intersection of LA 3127, it began to brake to merge into the right-turning lane. For reasons still under investigation, the BMW hit the rear of the Ford at a high rate of speed, troopers said.

Williams was improperly restrained and was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the Ford was properly restrained and was uninjured.
