Pettis County, MO : One dead, five hurt in Pettis County crash on Saturday, December 6, 2014

A Sedalia man is dead and a family is in the hospital after a Saturday night crash. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Brian Barr, 41, was driving west on Highway HH just after 8 p.m. when he crossed the center line. Elmer Knox was driving east and tried to avoid Barr, but the two cars collided head-on. Barr was taken to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Elmer and Diane Knox, both 34, sustained moderate injuries in the crash, as did Kadyn Knox, 7. Ashley Knox, 10, and Alicia Knox, 3, had serious injuries. All five were taken to Bothwell Regional Medical Center. Police are not sure if Barr or Elmer Knox were wearing seat belts. None of Knox's passengers were wearing theirs.
