Port O'Connor, TX : Mother, 3 children injured in a crash on state Highway 185 in Port O'Connor on Saturday morning, May 7, 2016

A mother and her three young children were hospitalized following a crash Saturday morning on state Highway 185 in Port O'Connor, authorities said Monday.

Darrah Elyse Thompson, 26, of Port O'Connor; Dominic Rendon, 3; Nicolas Rendon, 2; and Dalyssa Rendon, 1, were transported to Citizens Medical Center in Victoria, said Department of Public Safety spokesman Trooper Ruben San Miguel.

Their conditions were unknown Monday.

Thompson, in a silver Hyundai Tuscon SUV, was traveling southbound on 185 at 7:40 a.m. when she attempted to make a left turn into a side street, San Miguel said.

But Thompson failed to yield right of way to a maroon 2011 Ford F-250 pickup truck going northbound.

The pickup struck the SUV's front, sending it backward into a ditch. It came to rest upside down, San Miguel said.

The pickup truck came to rest on its side.

The driver of the pickup, Thomas Cody Spencer, 34, and his 8-year-old son, Dane Knight Spencer, were not hospitalized, San Miguel said.

Thompson was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way.
