A Coquille woman is dead after a head-on collision in Douglas County.
Oregon State Police say a 2012 Honda CR-V headed east on Highway 38 crossed the center line into westbound traffic and hit a 2004 Toyota Camry.
59-year-old Virginia I. Whalen-Jennings, who was in front passenger of the Camry, died at the scene. The accident happened near Elkton at about 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
The Toyota's driver, 57-year-old Kathleen D. Handcock of Coos Bay, and a second passenger were taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend with non-life threatening injuries.
The Honda's driver, 44-year-old Heather R. Friedrich of North Bend, was transported to Lower Umpqua Hospital in Reedsport with non-life threatening injuries.
