Pleasant Hill, IL : Nebo man dies in a single-vehicle crash north of Pleasant Hill early Saturday morning, July 2, 2016

A 27-year-old Nebo man died in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning two miles north of Pleasant Hill.

Authories say alcohol may have played a role in the crash.

The Pike County Sheriff's Department said Christopher R. Watts was driving a white 2010 GMC truck on County Highway 11 at 12:36 a.m., when he lost control on a curve while passing another vehicle. The truck skidded across the road and rolled over multiple times before it stopped.

Watts was taken to Illini Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A report said he was not wearing a seat belt.

Two unnamed passengers were treated and released at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

Assisting were the Illinois State Police, Pike County EMS, and Spring Creek and Pleasant Hill fire departments.
