JENNINGS, FL : Pedestrian in critical condition after Jennings accident on Monday, 2nd March, 2020

A pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit Monday night while sitting on the road in Jennings.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an unidentified man was sitting on the white line along the northbound lane of U.S. Highway 41 and the east shoulder around 7:30 p.m. Monday night.

The FHP report states that 36-year-old Terrance Houston, from Live Oak, veered left in his truck that was pulling a trailer in an attempt to avoid a collision just north of Berry Street in Jennings.

However, the side of the trailer hit the pedestrian in the roadway.

The victim was flown to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville in critical condition.

Houston was not injured in the accident.
