Columbia, SC : Tractor trailer driver in fatal Interstate 20 crash identified on June 24th 2014

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has identified a 65-year-old man as the victim in a fatal accident that occurred during early rush hour traffic on Tuesday morning.

Watts says Gregory N. Wilson, Sr. was killed due to injuries received in the crash.

Wilson was carrying logs on a flatbed truck when his truck crashed shortly before 7 a.m. on exit 74, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Investigators say the tractor trailer was the only vehicle involved in the crash, but other accidents occurred in the area.

The nature of the accident remains under investigation.
