Billings, MT : Man died in a fatal motorcycle crash Highway 2 near Bainville on Friday, August 19, 2016

The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash in northeast Montana.

A Montana Department of Transportation road cleanup crew found the wreckage off of Highway 2 near Bainville on Friday, according to MHP Trooper John Metcalf. A dead man was at the scene.

It's unknown when he died, Metcalf said.

It appeared that the man was riding eastbound on the highway, he said. The body was found in a roadside ditch.

Metcalf said that authorities are working to contact the man's family before releasing his name.
