Hutchinson, KS : Hutch motorcyclist in critical condition after three-vehicle crash at Elm, 30th on Sunday, 2nd October 2016
A Hutchinson man is in critical condition after being involved in a three-vehicle crash, which involved his motorcycle, on Sunday evening
William Cole Norberg, 32, was heading west on 30th when his Kawasaki motorcycle collided with a Mitsubishi 3000GT driven by Takoda Bowman, 17, Hutchinson, which was attempting to head north on Elm. The Mitsubishi then struck a Dodge pickup driven by Randy Long, 59, Hutchinson, which was stopped at a stop sign, said Hutchinson Police Department Sgt. Brian Hirt.
Norberg was transported by EMS to Hutchinson Regional Medical Canter. He was later airlifted to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis with possible head injuries.
He was in critical condition at 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
No one else was injured.
Norberg was not wearing a helmet. His shoes were also thrown off upon impact, Hirt said.
Bryson Hemphill, 18, Hutchinson, was riding as a passenger in Bowman's vehicle. He was not injured although the crash occurred on the passenger-side.
Westbound 30th Avenue from Plum to Elm was blocked off Sunday. Eastbound 30th Avenue has been opened.
The incident is still under investigation.
