Louisville, KY : 2 arrested after car crashes into strip club on Friday, 12th August, 2016
A two-car collision near an adult entertainment club on Seventh Street Road landed both drivers in jail early Friday on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence after one of the drivers ultimately ran into a gas meter at The Dollhouse club.
It began around 4 a.m. when the cars driven by Jazzline Jewell, 22, and Detrick Taylor, 25, collided in the 3600 block of Seventh Street, according to arrest reports. Jewell's car ended up running into the club's gas meter, said Sgt. Josh Myers, a spokesman for the Shively Police Department.
Neither Jewell nor Taylor, who were driving the vehicles, suffered any injuries, Myers said. A male passenger in Jewell's vehicle transported himself to the hospital with minor injuries.
According to the arrest report, Taylor had bloodshot eyes and admitted to police he had been drinking at a bar earlier in the night. A preliminary breath test showed he had a blood-alcohol content of 0.19. The legal limit to operate a motor vehicle is 0.08.Police said Jewell admitted to having two drinks two hours prior. She was administered a breathalyzer test more than two hours later after the accident at Metro Corrections, where she recorded a blood-alcohol content of 0.072. Police said she admitted to being high while in the back of a police car.
Both Jewell and Taylor were arrested around 4:30 a.m. at the scene and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving, court records show. Jewell is also being held on a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge stemming from an incident in November.
They are each scheduled to be arraigned in Jefferson County District Court on Saturday, court records show. They are being held in Metro Corrections.
