TOWNSHIP OF HERMAN, WI : Driver arrested following pursuit, crash on State Highway 33 near County Highway AY in the Township of Herman on Sunday, 22nd July 2018

A driver is in custody after a pursuit resulted in a crash and an arrest, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said in a release.

Officials said it happened around 7 p.m. Sunday when a patrol lieutenant attempted a traffic stop for speeding on State Highway 33 near County Highway AY in the Township of Herman.

According to the release, the car did stop. However, as the officer approached the vehicle on foot, an odor of drugs was detected from the car.

The driver then fled at a high speed, the release said.
