Biloxi, MS : Motorcyclist dies in crash on US 90 in Biloxi on Sunday, June 22, 2014

A 42-year-old Gulfport man has died after his motorcycle ejected him and he struck a palm tree in the median on U.S. 90 near Harrah’s Gulf Coast.

Harrison County Deputy Coroner Brian Switzer tells The Sun Herald Jason Owens was westbound around 12:15 a.m. Sunday when his motorcycle struck a curb at the edge of the median and he became separated from his bike.

Police say Owens was taken to Biloxi Regional Medical Center, and was pronounced dead. Switzer said he died of blunt-force trauma to the head.

Police say Owens was wearing a helmet.
