Columbus, OH : Man dies after pickup truck crashes in Marion County on Saturday night, October 22, 2016

A driver died Saturday night after he was ejected from his pickup truck in a crash in Marion County.

Vernon Mount, 53, of LaRue, Ohio, drove the truck left-of-center and off the roadway and then over-corrected twice, causing the truck to overturn, according to troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Marion Post.

Mount was traveling west on Rt. 309, east of Holland Road in Marion Township near the city of Marion, at about 6 p.m. when the crash occurred. He was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.

No other vehicles were involved.

Mount was transported to OhioHealth Marion General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The crash remains under investigation.
