Bakersfield, CA : One killed, one injured in motorcycle accident in Northeast Bakersfield on Sunday afternoon, July 10, 2016
A man driving a motorcycle died Sunday afternoon in an accident in Northeast Bakersfield, according to a release from the Bakersfield Police Department. A passenger on the motorcycle was also injured.
Around 1:09 p.m., police officers were called to the 10500 block of Alfred Harrell Highway for a collision, the report said. Police determined that the driver of the motorcycle lost control and struck a curb, ejecting both himself and his passenger.
The driver was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, the report said. His identity was withheld pending notification of family. The passenger declined medical treatment at the scene for his minor injuries, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, though neither drugs or alcohol appear to be a factor, the report said.
