Bowling Green, KY : One injured in Simpson crash on Thursday morning, February 23, 2017

A Glasgow man was injured Thursday morning after he lost control of his Nissan Altima while exiting southbound Interstate 65 onto U.S. 31-W in Franklin.

James Day, 72, crossed the intersection and hit a median, causing his vehicle to go airborne and then collide with a box truck driven by Steven Charlesworth, 38, of Chattanooga, Tenn., according to a news release from the Franklin Police Department. The box truck was stopped at the light when the collision occurred.

Multiple people assisted at the scene, where Day was trapped and had multiple injuries, the release said. He was taken by helicopter to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, where his condition was not available.
