ST. CHARLES, IL : St. Charles police vehicle involved in crash on Thursday, 26th April 2018

While responding to a separate vehicle crash, a St. Charles police officer and another vehicle were involved in a collision, a news release from the St. Charles Police Department stated.

Traveling south on South Second Street with emergency lights and siren activated, the officer enter the intersection of South Second and Prairie streets. At this point, a vehicle, driven by Lowell Yarusso, of the 700 block of Liberty Avenue, St. Charles, that was traveling west on Prairie Street failed to yield and collided with the police vehicle in the intersection, the release stated.

Minor injuries were reported. Neither the officer nor the driver of the other vehicle went to the hospital, the release stated.
