Friends of a Wellesley High School graduate killed in a crash in Boston's North End remembered him Saturday as a successful athlete and a loyal friend.Watch NewsCenter 5's reportThe crash was reported on Commercial Street at 2:45 a.m. Friday when a BMW hit a car and rolled over. The three passengers in the BMW were ejected from the car. Connor Darcey, 21, a Wellesley graduate and goalkeeper for the Penn State lacrosse team, was pronounced dead at the scene.James Burke, who had played lacrosse with Darcey since the pair were in the eighth grade, said their friendship continued at Penn State. "He lived such a happy 21 years, there's some comfort in that but it's tough knowing what he could have done, what he could have been not just as a lacrosse player but as a friend," Burke said. Burke said Darcey was selfless, and as successful off the field as he was on it."He was quick-witted, he was funny , he was kind -- he was everything you wanted in a friend," Burke said. Darcey was one of three people in the BMW that overturned. An unidentified 27-year-old man also died in the crash. Another Wellesley graduate, Harry James, 21, survived the crash. James was listed in good condition at Massachusetts General Hospital following the crash. Police said they do not know who was driving the vehicle, but believe speed was a factor in the crash.Darcey's lacrosse teammates are expected to arrive in Wellesley on Saturday to pay their respects to his family.The crash remains under investigation.
