TOWN OF LIMA, WI : A Janesville man is dead on May, Monday 1st 2017
A Janesville man is dead and a Whitewater woman in critical but stable condition after a two-car, head-on traffic crash Monday on Highway 59, near East Gould Road in the town of Lima, according to a Rock County Sheriff's Office news release.
The 59-year-old man was driving east on Highway 59 at 5:43 p.m. when he met a vehicle traveling west in his eastbound lane of traffic causing their cars to collide head on, according to the release.
It is not known at this time why the westbound vehicle deviated in to the eastbound lane. An investigation into the crash continues, according to the release.
Rock County deputies, Milton police, Wisconsin State Patrol, Whitewater firefighters and paramedics, Janesville paramedics and the Rock County Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters and paramedics extricated both drivers from their vehicles. The Janesville man was dead at the scene and the Whitewater woman was flown to University Hospital, Madison, where she is reported to be in critical but stable condition, according to the release.
