Topeka,KS : Woman injured in stabbing, man hospitalized after crash involving stolen vehicle, police chase in Topeka on September, Wednesday 20th 2017

One person was hospitalized Wednesday morning with what initially were reported to be life-threatening injuries after a two-car crash involving a stolen vehicle connected to an earlier stabbing incident in south Topeka.

In a news release, police Lt. Colleen Stuart said officers about 5 a.m. were “flagged down” in the 1300 block of S.W. 37th by a woman who said she’d just been battered by her husband, who then left the area.

Authorities said the woman had suffered minor injuries related to a stabbing. She went by private vehicle to a Topeka hospital, where she was treated, then released.

A short time later, police officers and investigators were sent to the Tamarron Apartments at 4420 S.W. 34th regarding a stolen vehicle. The Tamarron Apartments are about two miles west of the location where the woman flagged down officers.
