JACKSON, MS : Authorities identify pedestrian killed on I-55 on Friday, 6th September 2024

A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle on Interstate 55, according to Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart.

The coroner identified the victim as 60-year-old Ricky Hart.

The incident happened on I-55 North near the Woodrow Wilson Avenue exit, causing lane blockages early Friday morning.

According to officials with Capitol Police at the scene, northbound lanes on the interstate were blocked for a short time but began moving around 6:15 a.m.
