Jacksonville, FL : One killed, one hurt in crash near JIA on Airport Road Saturday morning on September 20, 2014

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Officers were dispatched to a traffic accident at 1900 Airport Road that involved two vehicles Saturday morning. According to the JSO, the preliminary investigation revealed that one vehicle was going eastbound and lost control for an unknown reason and crossed the median striking a vehicle traveling west. Officers say the driver of the vehicle that crossed the median died at the scene. The other driver was transported by Jacksonville Fire Rescue to UF Health with non-life-threatening injuries. The JSO does not have any witnesses at this time. The JSO traffic homicide investigators are on the scene conducting their investigation. Police do not know if alcohol was a factor in this accident.
