VENICE, FL : A Venice man was critically injured in a single-car accident on May, Saturday, 20th 2017

A Venice man was critically injured in a single-car accident Saturday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Injured and taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital was Gregory John Vahle, 70.

According to reports, Vahle was traveling north on State Road 681 about 7:21 a.m., approaching the intersection with En Theos Lane, when he lost control of his Audi A5. A witness to the crash said Vahle swerved to the right and then lost control while trying to steer back to the left.

Out of control, Vahle’s car rolled into an embankment and collided with a traffic signal support pole, spun and hit a traffic control box.
