Lawrenceville, GA : Gwinnett cop injured in car crash near Snellville on Monday afternoon, June 27, 2016

A Gwinnett County police officer was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center Monday afternoon after a crash with another vehicle that was turned on its side.

The incident happened at Scenic Highway and Janmar Road in the Snellville area near Walmart and Academy Sports+Outdoors.

Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Michele Pihera said the officer has non-life threatening injuries. She did not immediately have information on the other driver.

Northbound lanes were shut down for about an hour beginning at about 3 p.m.
