Winston-Salem ,NC : Two killed and two injured in wrong-way wreck that closed I-40 on Sunday ,July 12th 2015

Authorities say two people died and two others suffered injuries in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 40 in Winston-Salem.

Trooper D.B. Lewis with the State Highway Patrol told The Associated Press that the two-vehicle crash happened early Sunday, killing both drivers. Two passengers were treated for serious injuries at a local hospital.

Lewis said a Honda CRV was heading east in the westbound lane when it hit a Honda Accord head-on. Both injured passengers were in the Accord.

WXII-TV reported (http://bit.ly/1dUrQbJ ), which first reported the crash, said I-40 West was closed for about five hours before reopening about 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
