LYNNWOOD, WA : Driver jumps from truck in Lynnwood, leaving son to crash on Wednesday, 20th January 2021

A boy was taken to a local hospital after his father abandoned the driver’s seat of a moving box truck and jumped out of the cab near I-5 in Lynnwood, according to police reports.

The Mountlake Terrace man, 36, was arrested for investigation of hit-and-run, DUI, reckless endangerment and abandonment of a dependent person.

He was driving on 164th Street SW toward the southbound onramp of the freeway around 4:30 p.m. Saturday when he reportedly jumped out of the white Ford truck. It rolled down a 5- to 10-foot embankment with the child inside, according to a Washington State Patrol report.
