A 50-year-old man died after his car hit two sign posts and two trees along Frew Mill Road Friday night.
According to New Castle state police, David M. Fritch of Lawrence County was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was not wearing a seat belt and was the only occupant in the Mitsubishi Lancer.
Police report the car left the road and traveled 56 feet eastbound before crashing into a wooden post, then went another 24 feet before hitting a pine tree.
The car traveled another 56 feet before striking a second post and a final 47 feet before crashing into another pine tree at 7:46 p.m.
Police report speed is a suspected factor in the wreck. They continue to investigate the cause.
