Matthews, NC : Woman was injured after a car ran through the front of a restaurant on Friday afternoon August 15th 2014

Emergency crews responded after a car ran through the front of a Matthews business. The incident happened after 2:30 p.m. at the Pie Five pizza restaurant on the 1900 block of Matthews Township Parkway, near Independence Boulevard. WBTV's Sky 3 was over the scene where a car could be seen crashed through the front of the business. Police say the wreck happened when the driver, who has only been identified as a female, hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. Officials say one woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. They say that woman's husband pushed her out of the way. The driver was not injured. Police have not said if any charges will be filed. Source : Car crashes through front of Matthews restaurant
