Parsons, KS : Two-vehicle crash leaves one man dead, another man injured on Saturday, December 17th 2016

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday afternoon at Northwest 10th and Belleview Road, northwest of Columbus.
The preliminary investigation indicates that at 1:34 p.m. Saturday a 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis, driven by 45-year-old Joseph Bennett III of Scammon was northbound on Northwest 10th Street when it was struck by a westbound 2006 Ford F-150 truck driven by 31-year-old Daniel Irwin of rural Pittsburg.
Northwest 10th and Belleview Road is a rural intersection, controlled by a four-way stop.
Irwin was transported to a Joplin area hospital where he is being treated for injuries sustained in the crash. Bennett was transported to Mercy Maude Norton Hospital in Columbus, where he was later pronounced dead.
