A 21-year-old Plummer woman and former multi-sport standout was killed Friday in a single-vehicle accident west of the Coeur d’Alene Casino.

Idaho State Police said that Olivia M. Pakootas was traveling westbound on Idaho state Highway 58 when she failed to negotiate a left curve, struck a guardrail and flipped her vehicle.

Pakootas was ejected, police said, and she wasn’t wearing a seat belt. The crash is under investigation.

Pakootas starred at Tekoa-Oakesdale, helping the girls’ basketball team reach the WIAA 1B title game in 2014. After placing second in both the high jump and long jump at the 1B track and field championships, she went on to jump at Spokane Community College.
