Madison, WI : 1 dead, 3 injured in Sauk County crash on Tuesday, 20th March 2018

One person died and three others were injured Tuesday morning in the town of Excelsior, the Sauk County Sheriff's Office said.

A 2000 Toyota Camry was headed west on Highway 33 near Ableman Road when the driver, Brent E. Fowler, tried to pass another vehicle also going west, the sheriff's office said.

But instead Fowler, 43, struck a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse that was headed in the opposite direction around 10:20 a.m., according to the sheriff's office. Fowler, of Reedsburg, died at the scene, the sheriff's office said.

The driver and two passengers of the Traverse were taken to hospitals for their injuries, according to the sheriff's office. The crash remains under investigation.
