NEW HAVEN, CT : Police ID man charged after he allegedly crashed into New Haven on Saturday, 31st October, 2020
A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly crashed his vehicle into a dentist’s office on Whalley Avenue Saturday.
Kevin Egan, 20, is charged with operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to drive in the proper lane, Capt. Anthony Duff said in a release.
Duff said the crash occurred in Westville Village at at the intersection of Whalley Avenue and Central Avenue around 2 a.m.
“Prior to the accident, Egan was operating a Kia Sorento sport utility vehicle (SUV) and traveling north on Central Avenue,” Duff said. “Central Avenue ends at the Whalley Avenue intersection. Operator Egan failed to turn left or right onto Whalley Avenue but continued across the intersection. Egan’s SUV crashed into the building at 881 Whalley Avenue. The collision caused significant damage to the building.”
