GOOCHLAND COUNTY, VA : 2 injured after crash involving tractor-trailer on I-64 eastbound at mile marker 158 on Tuesday, 22nd January 2019

Virginia State Police say two people were injured in a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 64 early Tuesday morning.

The two-vehicle crash happened at about 4:15 a.m. on I-64 eastbound at mile marker 158 in Goochland County.

According to the trooper's preliminary investigation, a male driver of a tractor-trailer -- which was empty -- was traveling eastbound when he struck a Jeep Compass in the rear. As a result, the tractor lost control, ran off the road to the left and overturned.

The driver was entrapped for a period of time, but was checked at the scene and was not injured, state police said.
