Hot Springs, AR : Local woman killed in one-vehicle wreck on Monday, February 13th 2017
A Hot Springs woman was killed Monday afternoon in a one-vehicle wreck on Highway 27 north in Montgomery County, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary fatal crash summary.
Cheryl Chewning, 30, was a passenger in a 1985 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Justin Evans, 28, of Amity, who was southbound on Highway 27 around 3 p.m. when he reportedly lost control while negotiating a curve, ran off the side of the roadway and overturned several times.
Evans was injured and taken to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs while Chewning was pronounced dead at the scene. The report notes conditions were clear and dry at the time of the wreck.
