Ponca City, OK : Kaw City man killed in vehicle accident near Ponca City on Monday, January 5, 2015

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says an 81-year-old man has died in vehicle accident near Ponca City.

Troopers say Walter Alexander of Kaw City was driving eastbound in a pickup on State Highway 11 on Monday.

The Oklahoman reports Alexander's vehicle went off the road and hit the end of a guardrail. The state highway patrol says his pickup slid back across the road and was struck on the passenger side by a westbound vehicle.

Authorities say Alexander wasn't wearing a seat belt and died at the scene. The other driver was wearing a seat belt and wasn't injured.
