Authorities say a pedestrian has been struck and killed on Highway 126 in Springfield.
The Register-Guard reports that the man, who police say was about 50, was hit Sunday morning as he was walking across the highway. He has not been identified.
Police say 42-year-old Timothy Lovelace was driving a 2009 Lincoln MKS when he struck the pedestrian in the second lane of the westbound highway. Police say Lovelace, who was not injured, called 911 and performed CPR on the victim until emergency personnel arrived.
No charges have been filed.
The incident remains under investigation.
