A Jefferson man is dead after striking two trees in a single-vehicle accident. Jason J. Peairs, 29-years-old, was driving north on State Route 45 near Callender Road around 10:00 p.m. on Saturday. He drove off the right side of the road, and the vehicle overturned, striking two trees before coming to a stop. Peairs was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Ashtabula Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
